Sicky sicky...

Oi vey, I hate being sick.

Court and I spent time at our brother's house a few hours away for our spring break. Come to find out, I think I'm pretty much allergic to their dog. We're talking full-blown allergies, stuffy head, sinus pressure, asthma, coughing...the works. Went to student health the day after the day after we came back and the doc pretty much confirmed what I already knew.

Severe allergies and sinus infection. Yeah, nothing new here. Except for the fact that it wasn't going away! No matter what I took, it didn't lessen the pain or the suffering. Ick.

So what does the doc put me on? Steroids...Prednisone to be exact. Ick...double ick. It's not that these steroids taken in controlled amount are bad for you in general...but they're bad for your vocal chords. Eh, I'd rather be able to tolerate life than to sing for a few days anyway. Now only if they'd actually work.

It's kind of funny when people say, "No offense, but you look like you don't feel good." I mean, come on...thanks for stating the obvious! ;o) I just want to say, "Thanks, I sure FEEL like I don't feel good." But ya know, that wouldn't do any good. I just think it's hilarious that a few of the girls think I'm crazy because I go into work even when I look and feel like crap because I know that if I don't, the work that is there for me won't get done. Monday they ended up sending me home after I'd only been there an hour and a half.

There's one thing about me that most people don't know. I have a pretty high tolerance for pain. Like a freakish high tolerance for pain. (I don't even blink...not even flinch when I go to get my eyebrows waxed, it doesn't even phase me...see what I mean?) So if I say I don't feel good, you KNOW I don't feel good. Usually I won't say anything about it, just suck it up. But when it's to the point that I'm completely miserable, it's to the point that it's unbearable. And people who don't have allergy or sinus problems are LUCKY! I wish I was them! (<~said as a shooting sinus pain makes my eyes water) ...off to take some cough syrup with codeine to help me meet my appointment with my bed...ZZZzzZZZZzzz
